Empowering Youth Through Environmental Action in Qatar
At AquaSports Eco Camp, we truly believe that protecting the environment starts with awareness, responsibility, and real hands-on experience.
That belief came to life during the first edition of the “Green Eco Leaders” program, delivered in collaboration with Qatari Youth Hostels, and hosted at our eco camp in Al Thakira mangroves.
This program was not just an activity — it was a journey that brought young participants closer to nature and helped them understand their role in protecting Qatar’s natural heritage.
A Meaningful Partnership for a Shared Vision
We are proud to have partnered with Qatari Youth Hostels, whose excellent organization and commitment played a major role in the success of the program.
The collaboration focused on creating a safe, educational, and inspiring environment where youth could learn, participate, and contribute with confidence.
Together, we worked towards one clear goal:
preparing a new generation of environmentally aware leaders who lead by action, not words.

What the Participants Experienced
Throughout the program, participants were actively involved in real environmental work, including:
- Beach clean-up activities and learning about plastic pollution
- Collecting mangrove seeds and taking part in replanting efforts
- Supporting educational sessions and learning basic eco-leadership skills
- Assisting in organizing eco-tourism activities at AquaSports Eco Camp
- Understanding how outdoor education connects with sustainability
These activities allowed participants to see the impact of small actions and how teamwork can create real environmental change.

Learning Through Real Nature, Not Classrooms
Unlike traditional programs, Green Eco Leaders was designed to be fully practical.
Participants learned directly in nature — touching the mangroves, cleaning the shoreline, and understanding ecosystems where they actually exist.
This hands-on approach helps young people build a genuine connection with the environment and encourages long-term responsibility.

Thank You to the Participants
A special thank you goes to every participant who showed commitment, respect, and genuine care for the environment.
Their positive energy, teamwork, and willingness to learn made the experience meaningful for everyone involved.
Programs like this remind us that youth are not just the future — they are already part of the solution.
Looking Ahead
The success of the first edition of Green Eco Leaders motivates us to continue developing similar programs that combine:
- Outdoor education
- Environmental protection
- Youth leadership
- Responsible eco-tourism in Qatar
We look forward to future editions and stronger collaborations that support sustainability across the country.
