Junior Duke Award Outdoor Trip in Qatar: Kayaking, Hiking & Nature Learning at AquaSports
Outdoor education plays a vital role in developing confidence, resilience, and real-world skills in young learners. At AquaSports Qatar, we were proud to host a Junior Duke Award – Outdoor Trip (Hike) experience for Year 7 students from Doha College, combining adventure, teamwork, and environmental awareness in one meaningful program.
This carefully designed outdoor challenge reflects our commitment to safe, educational, and award-aligned outdoor learning experiences in Qatar.
Junior Duke Award Outdoor Challenge – Program Overview
As part of the Junior Duke Award Outdoor Trip requirement, participants successfully completed a structured program that included:
- Kayaking Challenge:
🚣 2.5 km kayaking journey (approx. 1 hour) through shallow coastal waters, focusing on paddling technique, coordination, and endurance. - Hiking Expedition:
🥾 4 km guided hike (approx. 1.5 hours) designed to build stamina, navigation skills, and group responsibility. - Nature Walk & Challenge Stations:
🌿 Observation tasks, environmental awareness activities, and challenge spots encouraging problem-solving and teamwork.
Each activity was supervised by trained AquaSports instructors and aligned with Junior Duke Award outdoor learning standards, ensuring both safety and educational value.
